I am thinking about starting a new car restoration project with a 1967 mustang fastback. I have always wanted one and having done many replica cars over the years including a GT500 am very tempted.
If you could buy any car to restore what would it be?

I visit Santa pod quite frequently. (Not a real race track I know but I love it)
I'm so jealous I'd love to restore an old car but my mechanics knowledge goes as far as a Haynes manual can explain:(
Have you seen a specific one yet?
Yeah in touch with a guy in somerset who has a shell. Just trying to agree a price.
I have been very very lucky whilst I was at BMW. I have driven round Rockingham many times, I have been round Brands Hatch with Andy Priaulx driving ( close to pooping my pants) at the speed and feeling out of control. I have also been lucky to have been or driven round a few of the tracks round the world.
Liquid, helps if you have a mechanic friend but I am not qualified at all and the internet is truly your friend on stuff like this.
You should really do it fella with something on a smaller scale like a Escort mk2.

I can help out a fair bit on a Lincoln Conti. You would want to look at something like a 1962 as what you pay for it you will pretty much get back.
Research is doing the first one. Unfortunately its a heads first thing but the better the shell (lack of rust) the better. Welding is a very specific and very underated skill which can cost huge amounts if needed.

If I'm honest I've always wanted to get ahold of a Lincoln contental absolutely huge car.

My mechanicing days are well and truly over but I converted plenty of VW Beetles into beach buggies in my younger days, sometimes working all night.

Cool machines, I would have loved one of those.
