How do you get Pikachu on the bus? You pokémon. Get it?! LOL

You all know what Pokémon is and you've all seen the world go crazy for the new Pokémon Go game for the past few days, but it's now officially out in the UK and we've seen folk walk into lamp posts, go to the gym but not work out, or pet dogs are now getting the most exercise of their lives...

But what about you? Is going around catching virtual monsters with an augmented reality game/app the #newnormal, or is it nothing but a fad that will fade away?

I'm still on the fence at the moment. I'm not sure of there will be a core plot that will grab me. It seems to be a community-driven game, whereas I like to escape in a great story (e.g. Witcher, Fallout, Halo etc).

However, it looks amazing, so I'll read some reviews and user comments and make my decision. I still have Blood and Wine for The Witcher to finish and want to get Doom too.

How about you?

Yup, it's downloading now ready for playing tomorrow @Toby.
I know what you mean regarding story etc, I just think this is something different and unique amongst the ever present yearly cycle of fifa/cod/battlefield etc.

Awesome, let me know what you think @viridis. I'm leaning towards getting it rather than not. Eager to hear from you slight_smile

It's strangely addictive, the planetary exploration is awesome, finding vital isotopes to power your gear and precious minerals to trade with.
Then you blast into space and can fly to other planets, stations, outposts etc.
Once bored of your system, you can warp to the next star system and have an exploration there.
Solid game and we'll worthy of the hype.

Damn, now I'll need to get it @viridis. Your fault wink

Seriously though, I'm glad the exploration is fun, it was the one thing I was worried about.

How about the combat?

Well so far I've only encountered some sentinel drones and they kinda swarm on you if you open fire.
But thats the choice, most life is neutral to you, it's how you treat them that determines allies or foes
