[Pennywren]

Hi all.

Encouraged by 2 fab community members to create this new topic. Hope you like.
Thought this could be a nice space to share some of the poems we have written and inspire each other with our creativity. Poems are a way for me to voice whats going on in my head especially when my anxiety has left me feeling somewhat foggy headed.

[Pennywren]

Gosh I'm going mad with poems today 😂

*Entwined trees*

The roots reach deep
The branches entwined.
Each cradles the other
Giving support
In lifes own storms.
Alone they bend
But together stand strong.
The leaves blossom
And weave a canopy of colour.
In their branches
There is solace.
A shelter from the storm.
Birds find comfort in their loving embrace
A sense of peace and hope.
Squirrels curl up, feel protected
Knowing there is safety
Within their branches.
The pale pink blossoms
Glow in the daylight
Each tiny blossom a sign of hope.
Stand tall together.
Stand strong together.
The branches entwined a symbol
Of love and everlasting joy.

*Trees*

It wasn't so long ago
That the trees were bare and empty.
But now the buds are here
And the leaves uncurling, unfurling.
Each leaf all shiny and new
The trees bursting with life.
Nestled amongst the branches,
Hidden from sight,
A tiny home is being built
Each twig carefully placed.
Young bird weave together a nest so beautiful,
A safe little haven.
Line it with feathers
Line it with lambs wool.
Protect your greatest treasure
Protect your greatest hope.
Those tiny eggs a sign of spring
The cycle of life begins anew.

Been such a crazy busy week but I'm still writing poems here and there. Im just honoured that I can post them here and people will read them. That makes me so happy 😄 even my darker poems are containing rays of hope now.

Its morning but I want to sleep,
Sleep the day away.
To wake when things no longer scare me,
And pain no longer haunts.
The past a mill stone,
The future unknown.
Im holding on to a ray of hope,
Let my wildest dreams be known.
Move beyond self doubt,
Self loathing.
To a place of peace in my heart.
Im tentative in my hope,
Im taking baby steps:
One foot in front of the other,
I will get there in time.
To achieve my dreams,
To achieve my goals,
To make my life complete.

That's beautiful, although sad in parts. If you'll excuse me saying, your self belief seems to have taken a knock. None of that has anything to do with me but I just want to say, believe in yourself. You are so damn talented. I really mean that. The cards and pictures you make are simply beautiful. You could set up a little cottage industry and I would buy from you. Your poems make me feel happy, sad and uplifted.

@Cleoriff you are in part right: I do have little self belief in myself but I have always been this way. It's most prevalent when it comes to confidence in my abilities.  I'm the same at work: I do all the necessary training,  pass the necessary exams and yet I still doubt my capabilities. It's something that I am trying to work on it but it's isn't always easy for me to see things like talent in myself. To me I'm nothing special etc and I feel a bit embarrassed when people ask me to sell myself in terms talents and skills. I just don't see what other people see

I'm not asking you to 'sell yourself'. You don't need to on here. You are who you are. To me you are supertalented in what you do here.

As I see it, you have a gift @Pennywren . You are creative with your artwork and your poetry. You are talented and I for one am grateful that you share your abilities with us here on the Community and look forward to seeing what creations you have made on the Photos thread and reading your poems here on this thread.

*wolf*

The lone wolf stands
Watching the world.
The forest his home,
The trees his sanctuary.
Those bright amber eyes miss nothing
The smallest action noticed:
From the way the grass blows in the wind
To the soft footfall of the deer,
Nothing is missed.
The breeze ruffles his fur,
The wind carrying different scents:
New grass, wet earth, predators and prey alike.
Ears twitch at birdsong,
Eyes unblinking surveys his domain.
His is the master of the forest,
His is the protector and guardian.
Justice is swift
But his heart is gentle.
Kindness beats within his heart
Understanding within his soul.
