Hi all.

Encouraged by 2 fab community members to create this new topic. Hope you like.
Thought this could be a nice space to share some of the poems we have written and inspire each other with our creativity. Poems are a way for me to voice whats going on in my head especially when my anxiety has left me feeling somewhat foggy headed.

Hope you enjoy reading and sharing your work.

Pennywren 😊

*space colours*

The night sky a navy canvas,
The stars brilliant jewels.
Planets dance their never-ending patterns,
A blur of colour, light and shine.
Cloud nebula shimmer,
A myriad of colours,
More than the imagination can describe.
At the heart of the galaxy,
A sun glows, beautiful, bright
An amber heart at the core.
Flames dance on the surface,
Spiralling white, yellow and golden flame.
With each solar burst,
Here on Earth a treat of magic:
The magic and majesty or the aurora.
The mystical greens,
Teals, turquoise spark across jet sky.
Light dancing in unknown patterns,
Ethereal in quality,
Yet beauty personified.
The gem like colours enchant,
Encourage myth and legend.
Talks to spirit paths,
Of magic, mystery and legend.

Thank you. 😃
The wolf poem was inspired by a painting i saw someone had made of a wolf stood in a woodland. As for the "space colours" it was written for a weekly challenge on something called Side by Side.

Morning is when the memories start,
The ones I thought I had hidden,
The ones I hoped were locked away.
Nothing terrible,
Nothing scary,
Just times when I have been put down,
My confidence slowly eroded away.
Sticks and stones and all that
But words hurt most of all.
The put downs,
The "helpful" advice,
All the times I have been mocked.
I don't trust myself,
I feel incompetent at best.
Why cause pain to others?
Why deliberately cause hurt?
Confidence shattered,
I have been ground down.
Shell of my former self,
I no longer recognise who I am:
Im a stranger to myself.

April Snow

During the night,
Snow fell silently,
Building slowly,
All pristine and white.
Things unrecognisable,
Under a frozen blanket.
As the sun crests the hill,
Sunbeams reach out across the land.
Where the sun touches
Snow glints and sparkles.
As the earth begins to warm,
The snow begins to thaw.
The mounds of snow,
Begin to melt,
Crystalline drops of icy water.
Although still deep,
The sun brings hope,
That soon this frozen landscape,
Will thaw and life will be renewed.
The emerald grass will appear,
The trees will shake off
Their icy blankets.
Buds and blossom will reappear....
Spring can begin again.

Lovely @Pennywren  and relevant. Just when we think Spring is on the way, we get more snow...Let's hope we have seen the last of it. smiling

Rainbow

Although the rain falls steadily,
Although the sky is leaden,
There is possibility yet.
A break in the black clouds,
A shaft of brilliant light.
As the sun streams down,
Something miraculous happens:
A rainbow arcs across the sky,
Each colour is vivid, jewel like.
As the sun strengthens,
The colours gleam brighter,
Until even the storms power is weakened
At the the beauty of the rainbow.
7 beautiful colours,
In a ribbon of pure light,
Make even the darkest days bright.
The storm lessens,
The clouds drift away,
Until the sun sparkles through,
Casting diamonds of brilliance,
Onto the earth below.
