News; Steam releases in-home streaming service to the public

Anonymous
Not applicable

This is something I've been looking forward to as it means I can now play Steam games in my living room on my TV which is connected to a small underpowered PC.

Playing something like Battlefield 4 on a 50" HD TV compared to a 22" monitor is what I'm excited to see! Smiley Very Happy

Surely you jest? @Anonymous ....Astounded

Battlefield 4 on a 50" screen????... We have TWO Xboxes here... the 360 and the ONE...headphones have

become a compulsory accessory!

I would also like to have a roll of industrial strength gaffer tape available ..to cover various mouths when

played via 'live'....  Shirty LOL

I've got a 360 and a PS3 hooked up to my TV already but hate playing FPS games like Call of Duty and Battlefield with a controller, I much prefer the control a keyboard and mouse gives me slight_smile

So now's my chance to play them on the big screen grin

You will be pleased to know I wont be visiting you anytime soon! LOL

Seriously, does this mean you can stream these games into every room in the house?Destroy

Mmmmmm...off to the padded cell (or soft room as we call them now!!)

@Cleoriff So long as there is a PC , Mac or laptop in the room thats connected to the internet and logged into Steam then yes it means you can play any of your games there, and have them streaming from a computer more capable of playing them. Steam is for "PC gaming", not for consoles.

@Anonymous Have you tried playing games like CoD with a keyboard and mouse? I find that there is quicker and better accuracy with a mouse than having to scroll up and down and across with a controller.

I've never tried it but I'm soo used to playing with the ps3 controller on call of duty ghosts and Battlefield 4 that it would be really difficult I think for me to use the pc keyboard and mouse @Anonymous

Honestly, once you've tried it you'll wonder why you're bothering with a console and a controller haha!

In saying that, I was watching some Battlefield 4 videos on Youtube last night that were recorded on one of the consoles and it looks completely different. The HUD has major difference and even some of the weapons on the vehicles have changed. It looked like a completely different game to me!

Yes, when I read the article I realised that it was for PC's. As we pretty well have a PC in every room here...

my horror increased at every step...

So although it all seems brilliant @Anonymous ...I will NOT be passing on your articles to any of my family

members!

They can carry on dreaming...CrazyLOL
