Headline : 'Cloud' concerns after celebrity picture leaks.

"Experts have raised concerns over the security of "cloud" storage sites following the leak of intimate pictures of celebrities.

It is understood some of the images were obtained from services such as Apple iCloud that back up content from devices on to the internet.

Apple is understood to be looking into the issue."

My thoughts :

I understand most things are not secure ,and I use Apples iCloud and DropBox. Let's see how this pans out !

Do you use cloud vaults etc ?

This affects Dropbox and all other cloud storage services that your phone can automatically save your pictures to. Its basically been social engineering that has been going on for months, with pictures being traded between a tight group of individuals on 4Chan.

Its been basic social engineering thats been used to get access to these celebrities accounts.

Two simple rules:

1) Don't allow intimate pictures to be autosaved to your cloud account

2) Don't allow intimate pictures to be autosaved to your cloud account

If someone wants to get access to any of your accounts and they can find out enough about you they WILL get access to it eventually.

The sites hosting these files need to make resetting passwords, etc tougher. Why insist on a complex password when you only need 2 or 3 pieces of information to get access to reset it?

Dropbox alerted users months ago and made some changes to prevent unauthorised access to their servers....
