Not quite sure I understand this.

There's a new law coming into place where all ISP's and mobile networks will have to log all internet activity and history for an entire year? Don't they already do that anyway?

Besides, unless you're doing illegal things what have you got to worry about?

Yes I agree totally. My point is that the public would worry about how much of their personal data would be shared despite all the reassurance from government. A lack of understanding will cause this sort of concern

Anyone who's worried should be rightfully worried, personally I have nothing to worry about. Privacy went around 9/11....

Just to add....here are the latest questions and queries about this bill....

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-34719569

The bill proposes the authorities be given the right to retrospectively check people's "internet connection records" without having to obtain a warrant.

That means, for example, they would be allowed to learn someone had used Snapchat at 07:30 on their smartphone at home and then two hours later visited Facebook's website via their laptop at work.

It may sound fairly innocuous - but of course many people have internet habits that are legal but nevertheless very private. So, is their privacy being put at risk?

Then we learn in a link from that page that MI5 has 'secretly collected phone data' for past 10 years..:smileywink:
