Hey everyone,

There are some really interesting movies coming out this month with quite a few that I'm super keen to see! Before we get to that did anyone see any of the films we discussed last month and if so what did you think and would you recommend any of them to the community?

The big release is Captain Marvel, the latest movie in the MCU franchise and the last film before the highly anticipated Avengers End Game. I'm a fan of the Marvel movies and have seen them all so I'll definitely be checking this one out.

To give a bit of balance to last years very polished drama First Man,  Apollo 11 is a documentary that chronicles Apollo 11's mission to land a man on the moon.

I came across the trailer for this one quite by accident but it really peaked my interest. Captive State is set 10 years after the occupation of Earth by a mysterious alien race and follows an attempted rebellion.

A really interesting horror movie called Us is out in March in which a family are terrorised by their own doppelgangers!

Lastly Danny DeVito stars in a live action Dumbo movie! I had no idea they were retelling this story so it's worth a look.

What do you think of this months movie releases? Are you planning to see anything and which films are you looking forward to the most?

Not a problem @Martin-O2.
Something that occurred to me just now is how good the soundtrack was. Being a child of the 90s (at least in music terms) the music in the film was fantastic.
Annoyingly I cannot find a "mix-tape" like they did for Guardians. It would be rather popular if they did one...

Just checked You Tube and found this. Not sure if it's what you are after? (30 mins long)

I found that on Saturday after watching @Cleoriff, but for Guardians they actually did an album you could buy.
I think there is a Spotify playlist, but that's not quite the same...
Thanks for the link tho!

So, a quick spoiler free review of Captain Marvel...
I thought it was very good.
As an origin story it worked very well, I thought that (as usual) the special effects were very good.
I did not agree with some of the comments that have been made about the character/story/choice of actress that have been doing the rounds.
As usual for Marvel films, don't leave as soon as the film ends as you won't see everything...

I wondered why no-one was following me  Smiley Surprised

I knew then that something else was coming (not that it was worth waiting for :smileywink:).

A very good film though, lots of action, great special effects, and an attractive woman playing the lead role. If you're a shallow person like me, what's not to like? Smiley Very Happy

What did you think of them then @Anonymous ? Did you catch them later?
Thought the first one was ok - leads nicely into Endgame, and into the 2nd trailer that has been released but if you miss it then it won't stop you understanding what happens in Endgame (I am guessing...).
We did not stay for the 2nd one but did watch the first - having read about the 2nd one I would have to agree!!

@gmarkj

To be honest with you, I'm a late convert to this kind of film genre, and I've no particular preference for either Marvel or DC. There are a lot of films from both of those franchises that I still haven't seen, so I'm probably watching these films in the wrong order upside_down

That said, I did watch "Avengers: Infinity War" last year, including the extra scene at the end, so I should have expected something similar this time around. But I think unless you've followed these films from the start, then there are probably a lot of details that go straight over your head.
