I heard this when we were out tonight. Sickening that atrocities like this are becoming commonplace in the US
I suppose more excuses will come from Trump

They can challenge the gun laws all they want but nothing is going to change until the gun lobby is sent packing, and stronger gun laws are put in place. At present, in many states, it's just too easy to get a gun. As has been mentioned before, it is more difficult to purchase booze than it is to purchase a firearm. This is insane.
And yes Trump will wring his hands and decry what has happened but will do nothing concrete to prevent another mass shooting in another US city by some disgruntled lunatic who manages to get his hands on a firearm and is prepared to use it.
I agree with @Bambino, there is no end in sight nor will there be. Very sad and sickening but there it is.
As the NRA apparently made a large contribution to his campaign fund, there is no incentive for him to speak out against them.
Trump will back any cause if the cheque/check is big enough.....

Yes, I agree @Anonymous and that is one of the many reasons why he shouldn't be in the White House.

I just think it's pretty pathetic that one organisation can hold a country to ransom in relation to Presidential Elections, in what is the most powerful country in the world.
Too many people are stuck in the dark ages with this 'Right To Bear Arms' nonsense.
Even more ridiculous when he addressed the gun lobby weeks ago and tried to compare the UK with the US stating 'In the UK they carried knives'.....
I suppose American citizens don't carry knives then?
