Microsoft plan to hire colleagues with autism and Asperger's. It's only a pilot but having a 9 year old autistic daughter, this gives me hope she can find work when she grows up. Very prude of Microsoft. http://dailym.ai/1R7uO9s

Loads of tech firms hire autistic staff (probably due to them being very technologically advanced in some fields) without making a song and dance about it.
Sorry but announcing you're gonna hire ten (yes just 10) autistic staff is an insult to the ten that have no doubt previously applied and been turned down.

I worked for the NHS. We must be light years ahead of Microsoft. We have been employing autistic staff for years...

Autism is a brand that people are landed with when in actual fact they are gifted in areas that people who should know better just don't understand. My friend has an autistic son who has a photographic memory, can do incredible drawings and complete mathematical equations we can only dream of. He doesn't however communicate very well and seems to be in a world of his own but to be labelled autistic is a stigma that doesn't sit well with me. He is gifted, he's not unique but one day he may well be...

I wonder how on earth Microsoft will advertise these positions?
I doubt they will be able to say 'Only clients with Autism or Aspergers need apply'
Ridiculous.

These positions won't be advertised....
Contravening Equality and Human Rights directives then....
Incidentally the article states they will be recruiting candidates....
