Autism is a brand that people are landed with when in actual fact they are gifted in areas that people who should know better just don't understand. My friend has an autistic son who has a photographic memory, can do incredible drawings and complete mathematical equations we can only dream of. He doesn't however communicate very well and seems to be in a world of his own but to be labelled autistic is a stigma that doesn't sit well with me. He is gifted, he's not unique but one day he may well be...
