My grandpa had that too. But it seems like he was born that way, but it never had an effect - until the infarction came. 

He got it changed with minimal-invasive surgery.

Yes, he got it 1,5 years ago. one year went well... After it was inflamed and yes... It was a slow dying. He died in january. But without the new valve maybe earlier...

Depending on the level of damage to the heart valve, we can now do this operation via the artery in the groin, passing a small 'scope all the way through to the damaged valve. Mesh can be inserted the same way. This supports the damaged valve. In many cases this is all that's required...
