I've had a 30 minute phone call from my son in Berlin and then a 2 hour Skype call with my wife

Not so good for her as she had a root canal done this morning.....

That's fantastic, Steve. Though I do feel sorry for your wife. I've had root canal work done and know how painful it is 

I also hope lunch with your other son and grandkids went well and you had a thoroughly good day. You certainly deserve it after the year you've had.

My day was excellent, good food, great conversation, lovely people to enjoy it with and plenty to drink. It couldn't have gone better.

My day was quieter yesterday. It's the busy one for me today. (busier in relation to everyone coming here, then a round up of the troops to go out for a 'festive carvery')

My eldest has flu....definitely not 'man flu', I saw him yesterday and it's the real deal. I've told him to wear a mask today...
