And don't keep it under wraps, acknowledge it, share it.

Yes, so often mental health issues are not taken seriously or are brushed under the carpet.

Thank you for posting about the issue @Cleoriff👍

Thank you for the post @Cleoriff

I agree - every month should be Mental Health Awareness month and everyone should feel they can talk and not hide things away.

@pgn @TallTrees @Mi-Amigo and @Oxonian

Thanks for your comments. I know the post is a bit late  but I intended to post it before I went away. No time, so thought I would get it online when I was away.

Sadly parts of Yarmouth are notorious for the poor signal and my PC (and dongle) let me down.

However, we are all of the opinion that Mental Health awareness should  take priority EVERY month of the year.

Thanks all ❤️

Yes, totally agree with your thread @Cleoriff and all posts above.

Much underrated illness ..... sometimes a lifetime ..... often not diagnosed or admitted to.

As a sufferer for many years and more un-diagnosed, but to be fair medical knowledge then is not what it is now ..... I take lots of tablets and wouldn't be here today without them & our much loved NHS without whom I nor my small family would not be here either.

I choose not to say much more ..... I have a chemical imbalance in my brain ... & ... also family history of mental ill health, both sides of my family. I am grateful for all the help I have received and do receive.

Post covid = lots of loosely based therapy NHS groups ..... It helps Sociability ..... I try to go to a particular local NHS craft class weekly, I am the slowest in the small group and need the most help, it does not bother me. There are others who will do for me what I could not do for myself ....... oh, the simple joy of coming home with something which I have made ... ... ... it's like a 'Show & Tell' at an 'Infant' school xx slight_smile

Thanks for posting @RunrigForever.

Of course we confided in each other a lot, in the days of you being Wispared.

I know how you struggled and it took a long time for the Mental Health team to sort out your medication regime to suit your individual needs.

You are one of the few people who has never been ashamed of talking about your bi-polar disorder.

You have always been open and honest about your struggles but have remained upbeat and positive.

Long may that continue. xxx

PS, only you could come out with the 'Show and Tell' comment. 😂

Thank you @Cleoriff

You did understand my illness & didn't criticise me ... & ... yes, sometimes it takes time to get the right medication and dosage.

I'll give you a 'funny'

I was once called 'A Nutter' in my own front yard = by a so-called friend. She was ignorant and ill-educated. Is there anything worse than that ! I soon gave her short shrift and told her what her reputation in the town was = she didn't like it and came out with some guff walking away. I was shaken but when I told my son he was proud of me for the retort ... ... ...

All I / we want it to be accepted - included, not excluded.

Awareness is the key word ... not ... for example celebrated.

There is a World Mental Health Day usually.

I believe June is Alzheimer's Awareness Month ... ... ... Wear Purple.

@Cleoriff you will know how much I appreciated your help and knowledge when I was WispaRed7

xx slight_smile
