Just call me Mr Helpful.........

This afternoon my nephew who is with the 3 Network was looking online and has seen that the tariff he is on is not so good in regards to Internet data packages, when compared with other 3 network current tariffs.

He is currently on 1gb data per month using a 4s and regulary goes over that incurring extra costs.

His current contract term does not complete until November 2013 so we have no leverage.

My nephew asks my opinion and I say " you don't get if you don't ask"

He gets through to a foreign callcentre where the agent starts to tell him the tariff he's on cannot be changed whatsoever until he gets to near the end of the term.

If he wants the "all you can eat data", then he would have to pay an extra £3 a month on top of his current monthly payments.

He looks disappointed so I tell him to be asked to be transferred to a senior agent. The callcentre woman says I can transfer you but you will not be offered anything else.

Whilst he's put on hold I take over the conversation.

By the end of my conversation with a more senior agent I have downgraded his tariff to lesser minutes, same textx, but now has all you can eat data for the same tariff cost he pays now.

"Thank you Uncle" ,he says

"Welcome Nephew", I reply.

Lol.

With all this cold weather and snow I think we'll all need a deal or a re-mortgage to afford to actually pay the heating bill !!
