The author makes a point, though as there will always be those who want the latest and 'greatest', I don't think it will make any difference at all.
A status symbol for many.

A very interesting read @Bambino.
But I will be upgrading to an S10+ as I can't wait for 5G and my present phone is on its last legs. . Still works ok but not as fast as it was when I got it 2 years ago.
Also want the increased storage and larger screen.
As @Cleoriff knows I'm not into status symbols nor having the latest and greatest just for the sake of it. But using my phone as I do it becomes very tired after 2 years of heavy use. I'm having to charge it 2/3 times a day now as opposed to once a day when I first got it. And, of course, I can no longer change the battery.
So I'll be buying the S10+ for increased screen size, increased storage capacity and because my present phone is not as fast as it was nor holding a charge as long. That it's Samsung's newest flagship phone is a minor detail.
