Happy Friday everyone!
Here we go with our Spotlight
He hasn't been around for so long but he has already become part of the family.
Thanks for your fantastic contributions and advice @Anonymous !
So say hi and congratulations below to @Anonymous
Who are you?
My name is Dave and I live in Newmarket in Suffolk. You can see how I cleverly formlated a username from this!
How old are you?
I turn 50 in October this year.
Do you have any pets?
Yes, I have a Havanese dog called Annie, she is 13 years old.
What can you contribute to the community?
Common sense!
What was your first mobile phone?
My first mobile was a Motorola Memphis on one2one pay as you go.
What is your current mobile phone?
I currently have a Sim free Samsung Galaxy A3 on a sim only pay monthly contract with O2.
What is network coverage like in your home and areas of commute?
Coverage in and around Newmarket is excellent, with 4G recently having been introduced. I go into Cambridge quite often and coverage there is equally good.
Where do you see the smartphone in 5 years?
Tough question. More technology improving the user experience as the devices become more powerful and I hope current battery research moves on quickly and comes to the consumer device.
What is the airspeed velocity of a sparrow?
I am currently coming to the end of the 2nd year of an Open University Physics and Maths degree so I will do the maths and let you know.
What was your favourite toy as a child?
I had a knitted rabbit my aunty made for me called it Freda – when my son was old enough I handed it on to him and he promptly lost it while out one day!
Apple or Samsung?
Samsung of course!
Feel free to ask him anything, sorry @Cleoriff not a cat lover but a dog lover!
Below are some of our previous members in the Spotlight. You could be next by getting involved in the community!

hi @Anonymous!
Lovely spotlight feature!! Always good to have another dog lover in the community ( lot's of in here :smileywink:) ! I love Havanese dogs! I don't usually like small dogs but Havanese are just so cute!
Not sure about the Physics and Maths , so I think I'll leave that to you and other "numbers" members in here.

Yes they are a lovely breed - very intelligent and very loyal, they do form strong bonds to their owners.
She is 6 months old here.
and a recent picture - she's over 13 now.

what lovely pics of your dog @Anonymous
I do love dogs ... just other peoples ... I once did foster a Border Collie called Max ... he was on death row ... but he disturbed my previous cat Wispa & took over the whole household (I needed dog training) ... but when he was taken back by a charity (& I felt rotten) the woman said I'd given himself 'a leg up' by saying he'd be good with children & other dogs (there wasn't a bad bone in that dog's body)
lots of dogs wher I live in Skipton, walking them along the canal towpath to the park, I generally complement the owner on their pets ... but I'm not dog savvy
thanks again for posting the pics of your dog ... he looks lovely

A sweeping statement but true up to a point. But like people there are some dogs who you would be wary of. Treat a dog right and he is your friend for life, the same can be said of people but there are obvious exceptions that disprove the rule.

Just FYI. I have had dogs all my life.......ranging from yorkies, a greyhound, a whippet, a dachshund and a staffordshire bull terrier....some belonged to my parents and others to me........Then in 1996 when ill in bed, my son rocked up with a present for his mum. Not a bunch of flowers....oh no...a kitten. He then bought two more who were destined 'to be drowned' he said......
The rest, as they say, is history
Edit...My eldest cat Bugsy is now in his 18th year.....and as loyal and intelligent as they come...
