A bit painful to hear but sadly indicative of what constitutes singing these days: loud powerful and sing the scales. Blame Whitney Houston for that one. And Mariah Carey. Worst of all, any young girl who imitates them is immediately classed as a talent. All multiplied by the likes of TV "talent" shows.
