Whether to start a new topic or not.

 Like the weather or music.  It seems pointless starting a new one when there are older ones about with perfectly apt / good titles that were talking about the exact same thing.. But I know some people / forums are a bit touchy about reviving old threads..

So I'm wondering how old is too old, or whether a new thread is in order!

It's good to see you posting @Poppysmum, I like looking at your avatar photo 

I do use the Search button to look up something I've seen on the community but can't remember where ... = ... it can be another member's post or one of my own ... I find it useful for that ... but ... not flooking or actual info as described above

Yes, you’re right, and it’s not much better on an iPhone either. 

I tend to work in portrait mode when I’m using my phone, but on a tablet it makes more sense to use landscape, so it’s odd that the image doesn’t fill the screen properly. 

Edit: this is how it looks on an iPad. The search bar is actually there, it’s just positioned in the right hand corner.

This sort of feedback is wasted in “Off-Topic”  

But on your initial question, I think it’s usually better to start a new thread. A lot depends on the type of discussion, but content is constantly being recycled, and if it’s a particularly old thread, then some of the contributors involved may have moved on. So you may as well present that content to a new audience.
