Hi guys, happy Thursday!
Just a heads up that I will be on holiday all of next week, 16-22 July.
I will be enjoying the summer with my parents who are visiting from Finland, and we will be exploring different areas of London and some surrounding areas. I'm hoping this warm weather continues although I read something about a storm approaching....
If anything comes up that you normally would flag to the Community Team, @Martin-O2 and @EmilieT will be here. If you send me a PM I will most likely action it on my return to the office.
P.S. If you have any suggestion for where to take my parents to enjoy summer in London, please let me know! I have some ideas already for a couple of days but still looking for some additional suggestions to present to them. They like cozy pubs, pretty areas to have a nice walk in, parks, and places with interesting-looking buildings they can take photos of on their smartphone. They also want to see museums, culture and landmarks!

I'm back from Liverpool and Manchester now! It was fun to get out of London for a few days. In Liverpool we saw the Albert Docks including the Maritime Museum there which was really interesting! Had lunch at the Pump House. Some shopping in Liverpool One and saw the Cavern Quarter which was very loud with Beatles music in every pub. It was super full everywhere so we ended up in Molly Malone's instead a little walk away It had a comfortable sofa to sink into after a full day of walking!
Manchester felt much bigger and had loads of places to visit. Our map was divided handily into different parts so it was easy to split where to visit each day. We saw the Castlefields area with the canal, some shopping at Arndale, Manchester Cathedral, the Gay Village with amazing cocktails, John Ryland's Library (loved it!), Science Museum, Saint Mary's Church....
We walked in both cities and didn't use public transport, so in total it was about 53 km!
Thanks for all the tips earlier in the year guys @MI5, @Cleoriff, @jonsie, @welshsteve76 and you were right you can't see everything in 1-2 days! I'll have to visit again some day.

I'm sure the signal was good in Liverpool but have things improved in Manchester? Glad you enjoyed my home city
