I have never experienced paranormal activity. Nor would I ever want to
Obviously I have worked in a number of hospitals and there is always a tale of some ghost or another that haunts certain corridors, wards, store rooms etc etc etc. ...never seen by me....Mind you I was never brave enough to decry these tales as rubbish......I felt that would be just a bit too risky

Popular ghostly goings on in Bolton...
Location: Bolton - Smithills Hall (aka Smithells Hall)
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: 24 April (reoccurring)
Further Comments: Tried and executed for heresy, Marsh is remembered as his footprint (created when he stamped his foot) in the stone floor turns bloody each April 24. His shade is also reported to haunt the Green Room, where he was interrogated, though that isn't date dependent. A priest is also reported to haunt the vicinity, as is a photogenic grey lady and a cat.
Location: Bolton - Turton Towers
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: Two skulls are currently stored in the Towers, that when stored in previous places, have been blamed for causing two ghostly men to appear and begin fighting. Poltergeist activity is also attached to the stories, and a woman apparently dressed in mourning costume haunts the staircase of the tower (and possibly an old path outside the tower). The area outside the tower is haunted by a phantom coach.
Location: Bolton - Ye Olde Man and Scythe public house, Churchgate
Type: Other
Date / Time: Late twentieth century (blood story), and 2000s (Geny)
Further Comments: A woman drinking at the public house found her hands covered in blood as she started to leave, though she had no wounds of her own, and no other source for the liquid could be discovered. More recently, the spirit of Geny, an eight year old girl, has be blamed for tugging at skirts, pinching people, and moving items around, while a phantom dog runs around chairs in the museum room.
Location: Bolton - Belmont Road
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: This shade, mistakenly hanged for highway robbery, still has the hangman's noose tied around his neck when he appears. They also say his eyes look as if they're ready to pop out of his head. Another report says that the road is also haunted by a fatal car crash from the mid twentieth century which killed a family - the screech of brakes followed by screams is heard but no accident can be seen.
And my favourite...
Location: Bolton - Albion Hotel
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: 1978 / 79
Further Comments: The female owner at this hotel felt something grab her bottom as she climbed into the bath. The ghost is also said to play around with the beer pumps.

This one is fact, my mum and aunt worked there together. ..and saw the ghost together. One of the sightings recorded below was theirs in 1961. No drinking on the job definitely!
Ghosts in Radcliffe - My home town
THE BRITISH TELECOM BUILDING IN RAILWAY STREET RADCLIFFE IS BUILT ON THE SITE OF THE FORMER COMMERCIAL HOTEL. THE PUB WAS DEMOLISHED IN 1972, AFTER STANDING FOR 123 YEARS. THE ENGINEER IN CHARGE IN 1951 CLAIMED THAT HE NOTICED A SUDDEN DROP IN TEMPERATURE AND SAW AN INDISTINCT SHAPE RISE FROM THE FLOOR AND GROW UNTIL IT REACHED THE CEILING WHERE IT DISAPPEARED. FIVE MORE SIGHTINGS WERE RECORDED UP TO 1972 WHEN TWO SCHOOLBOYS CLAIMED THEY SAW A GREY MIST. IT WAS ONLY AFTERWARDS THAT THEY HEARD ABOUT THE GHOST. THE MIST WAS REPUTED TO BE THE GHOST OF A LAnDLORD OF THE HOTEL WHO WAS MURDERED.A PORTRAIT OF A BEARDED MAN, THOUGHT TO BE THE LICENCEE,WAS ENGRAVED ON A WINDOW, WAS SAVED BEFORE DEMOLITION & IS IN THE MUSEUM.

I reckon she wouldn't have been the only lady to have her bottom felt in that particular pub
Like so many, it has long since closed down.

Actually I have to say one of the most frightening but best experiences of my life was being in Florida the last week of October. We went to Universal Studios Halloween Experience. It was a total scarefest. It wasn't just inside various attractions......it was out on the streets. I actually refused to go into one attraction with the family and stayed outside....Big Big mistake.....I have an absolute hatred of clowns......I will just leave it there
