We all like to travel outdoor with our electronic gadgets like camera, mobile phone, MP3 player or a laptop but panic when it suddenly starts raining. Yes, weather in the UK is very uncertain and there's not much we can do at that time apart from keeping it safe!
Well, this could be a solution in the future, check out this clip from BBC Click.
Imagine if these machines could be remotely installed at prime locations like malls for people to make their gadgets waterproof What do you guys think, could it be popular among commuters?

Unfortunatly this stuff is yet to be cost effective and is still prone to reduced efficiency over time.
The best ones available that I know of are very prone to heat damage of the coating at vaguely low temps (45c+)
I still own stocks with the guys that patented the orginal
(I don't mean to be a killjoy:D)

You're correct it can be expensive but you never know when a new piece of technology is discovered which is cost effective and equally more suitable/ durable for gadgets. I think, the newer version will have potential

I am skeptical about this taking off as Insurance companies make too much money from consumer electronics being water-damaged.
Looks cool though!
