Well with alcohol, cannabis and chloroform they were either floating or stark out. But I bet they lost that cough

At the bottom of the pic it says the dosage is 'One half teaspoonful three times a day'. That must have been fun. Shame it's still not available.

It also makes you wonder what are the 'other ingredients it's skilfully mixed with'
Laudanum maybe? (nothing like adding Opium to that mix....)

I seem to remember that stuff although I think mine had a slightly different percentage of alcohol.

I should imagine that mix would put the patient well out of worrying about the cough... 
This used to work for me - can't get it now of course.
