Channel 4 has taken over the terrestrial viewing for Formula 1 after BBC opted out of the contract.
I love F1 and am a bit dubious as to how successful this will be. However they have stated there will be no adverts during race time (thank god)
Yesterday they officially revealed the presenting team......
David Coulthard, Mark Webber, Alain Prost, Alex Zanardi, Susie Wolff, Karun Chandhok, Eddie Jordan and Bruno Senna; alongside seasoned live presenters and journalists Steve Jones, Ben Edwards and Lee McKenzie.
It also says Guy Martin will be making appearances

........and another thing !
What was so different about today's results to those of last year ?.......zilch....the new teams didn't get a look in........same old, same old
And another thing back to you ....:smileytongue:
If it's same old, same old, how come Grosjean came 6th...driving a Hass car?
Not forgetting the very experienced Alonso crashing after a high speed barrel roll ...and climbing out of this car...

A) He became a very good driver during 2015, shaking off his reckless reputation.
Don't forget he started 19th !!
B) As he said, “The key was the strategy, the red flag,” he said. “We had a pit stop and then stayed on those tyres to the end of the race."

I know Grosjeans reputation had improved a lot from his crash bang wallop days ...but I was making a point about the relatively new team Hass...... purely to dismiss the same old same old theory.
Today Vettel nearly caused an upset ...a bad call on his tyres put paid to his chances of winning (I think)
And the lovely Lewis made a real pigs ear of his start which gifted the race to 'the other one'
Seriously, I am glad the new qualification regulations were consigned to the bin....but I did think the actual race was exciting..
The new team radio regulations raised a laugh.
Hamilton: How can I turn off this damn alarm?
Team: We can't tell you that Lewis...

I admit I have limited knowledge of all the F1 politics. I knew trying to understand this years new rules would provide me with a challenge. The qualification set up was a shambles I know that and I am glad they have reverted back.
That article made interesting reading and I agree with it

Similar problems as in FIFA.
Both sports need a clean sweep and start again from a basic, simple point.
Corruption and bribes then?....

It's not the top teams though? Maybe those 3 teams are still trying out what works best for them....
Not that I understand all the intricacies of tyres. Other than the are dependent on weather and track temperature and will affect speed...:smileywink:
