Final comment for this season.

Mattia Binotto, Ferrari team principal has said this week 'I am very pleased to hear Lewis Hamilton is out of contract with Mercedes at the end of 2020'....leading to speculation that Ferrari will make a bid for him, as Vettel is also out of contract in 2020.

I'm not sure about that. Great if he could bring Ferrari a WDC...however, the Tifosi are a racist bunch and I have never forgotten the monkey chants when he stood on the podium after winning at Monza in 2018.

Anyway, roll on 2020. March 13th. heart

I read that this maybe Totos’ last day in charge... not sure what to make of that rumour.. but maybe if it was then LH would definitely be off when he could!

No Toto will be there next year. Though he has inferred that Mercedes won't continue to run a F1 team forever. LH has said he will stay while he is still in charge.

Today Toto was talking about how close they were to negotiating Lewis's 2020 contract rofl

Well what a great season it's been, the final testing is now over and it's all about 2020. I think though if you take out the odd GP like Ricard then it's probably been one of the greatest years of the hybrid era.

McLaren where awesome! They are now signing up sponsors left right and centre, the technical team and drivers are amazing, so a great 2019 but set up for an even better 2020.

Honda are getting there, another boost net year and Red Bull could move on from the amazing wins they had this year, to being a real challenger with Merc.

I think there was loads of great stuff, and also loads of crazy things to watch, and yet I can only see 2020 being better grin

I agree @Sy

The season got better half way through when Mercedes lost a bit of their dominance. Meaning Lewis had to fight, and fight he did.

It was tyre testing the last two days and George Russell was in the Merc yesterday. I bet he loved it, having to drag that Williams round all season.

I'm looking forward to next season. The teams are getting much closer and we may see some shocks in 2020.

That's my opinion as well @jonsie . However, I really think RBR will be the ones to watch.
