Starting a new thread (before the last one gets split again)...:smileytongue:
It is 2018, The year of the Halo... Like it or hate it, it will be implemented as part of new FIA rules
None of the 2018 cars have been revealed yet (that happens in February) but this is how it will look
Most drivers' aren't keen but are having to toe the party line...

In other breaking news, Williams have announced the replacement for Massa will be Sergey Sirotkin (age22). Robert Kubica and Paul di Resta trialled for the seat but weren't as fast as Sirotkin
(On the other hand they didn't bring £15,000,000 to the team. Sergey did)
So we have two young drivers for Williams.
Lance Stroll and the new kid on the block.
Lets hope Williams dont regret choosing money over F1 experienced drivers.

I'm not a great fan of the halo but it is designed to prevent injury so like all changes to F1 we will eventually get used to it. I thought the stopping of refuelling at pistols took away a lot of the excitement but again it was done for safety and we've got round to accepting that but F1 has changed and is changing year on year. I just hope it never gets boring.

A fair bit of controversy re Sirotkin. No F1 experience (except for occasional test driving) but did well in GP2
The Williams team have also gone with 1 older experienced driver and one youngster. Hence Di Resta and Robert Kubica were originally the only two in the running.
A lot of people were hoping Kubica would get it after his career ending crash a few years back which severely damaged his arm. Although he has made a remarkable recovery he would have needed an adapted car and questions were asked as to the strength of his arm withstanding gruelling F1 racing.
Bottom line the Russian lad Sirotkin rocked up...offered a lot of money and was fastest in testing...
He got the job with Kubica as reserve....
