How do you get to parenting age and not know what those things are for?

I suspect @Anonymous that there are many people, parents, teachers included who do not know what the basic infrastructure of life is.

We have instruction manuals for just about everything but the most important, parenting @Anonymous. Though to be fair, common sense should play a part!

Having said that the mother was an imbecile not to realise the lines were live. What did she think they were there for, certainly not their aesthetic beauty.

Truly the stupidity of some people beggars belief.

My husband used to work for the Electricity Board back in the day. He also worked on overhead lines (a job which had the highest percentage of fatalities for the whole of the Board)

The stupidity of people never failed to astound him. He once stopped 5 young kids climbing up a pylon to 'see what would happen'

Pointed out to them what 33,000 watts of electricity coursing through your body would do. Kites were a big hazard, even back then.

Mind you they don't put the Public Service Ads on tv these days, but surely the little lad getting blown off the electric fence in Jurassic Park is a tell tale sign..
