Thought I would start off a thread, bit of friendly banter not too heavy and an opportunity to express your ideas about your favourite team.

What are you hoping for in the January transfer market?

As a Liverpool fan I am hoping for cover for Mane and the front 3.

Yes, the Summer of 1979 if I remember rightly when Ovett and Coe seemed to break a world record of one kind or another every night of the week.

Shock of the footie season was Klopp announcing he is leaving Liverpool at the end of this season.

The only one smiling was Pep but we`re gonna wipe the grin off his face - Liverpool are on for the quad.

Without some key players we are top of the league, in the final of the EFL, on for the Euro, and the FA Cup; and we have the Irish wonder kid.

Klopp has won every trophy in his time at Liverpool. He`l be missed but never gorgotten.

YNWA.

It was a shock but if he thinks he's had enough, then he wouldn't give the best to the team really.

They have won a lot under his leadership, so I'll wish him well.

Top choice by many is Xabi Alonso, currently at Bayer Leverkusen

He would be a good choice @gmarkj although any appointment is something of a gamble. 😀

THE GAME OF THE SEASON ?

This Sunday - 10 March 2024 - LIVERPOOL v MANCHESTER CITY

The BBC Sports website has titled it...

Pep Guardiola [Man City manager] and Jurgen Klopp [Liverpool manager]: Last episode of rivalry that has dominated English football?read more here

Pundits and newpapers have, in pre-match reports, described it as the match which could decide who wins the Premier League; but it is one game - albeit a major one with both teams wanting to win and take top spot in the Premier League - and there are still 10 games to go to the end of the season.

With Mo Salah now fit and returning to Liverpool, the game being played at Anfield, the team determined to give Klopp another trophy to end his reign as Liverpool boss, I believe Liverpool will win the game.

I bet others have differing views....

@Mi-Amigo

I thought Liverpools main rivalry was with Man U?

When I had an apartment in Spain, my friends owned a sports bar.(They were a married couple from Liverpool) Matches between Liverpool and Man united needed two 'bouncers' at the bar!!

In fairness there was rarely any trouble. I worked the bar one night when their son was ill.
