Thought I would start off a thread, bit of friendly banter not too heavy and an opportunity to express your ideas about your favourite team.
What are you hoping for in the January transfer market?
As a Liverpool fan I am hoping for cover for Mane and the front 3.

England`s performance against Germany did nothing to instill any confidence that England can progress in the World Cup. As said by @jonsie , Southgate has no plan B and continues to worship and defend the over-rated Maguire and Cope - who were much to blame for England`s failure.
It is worth noting that England`s Lionesses captain Leigh Williamson and now retired Jill Scott watched the game. God knows what they must have thought after bringing football home.
A suggestion - sack Southgate and give the manager`s job to Jill Scott !!! I`m serious. Why can`t the men`s team have a woman coach and who better than someone with a wealth of experience and who the nation loves.

For me the team felt more like they were trying against Germany and this was proved by the 3 goals we scored, the flip side to that is that we also conceded the same amount so once again failed to win.
I always have this underlying confidence in England that something good will happen and am let down almost every time. I have a feeling Southgate will get his shot at the World Cup and then will leave after a lacklustre tournament.
To be honest I'm in favour of giving anyone a chance to manage England: female, male, foreigner, etc but I would want to see proven managerial success at a very competitive domestic level or preferably national level.

Tonight - Friday 07 Oct 2022 - live on ITV from 7.30pm; kick off 8.00pm - at Wembley.
ENGLAND Women`s Football team [The Lionesses] - European Champions
v
USA Women`s Football team - Word Champions.
The Lionesses Euro winning team will be without Ellen White and Jill Scott [both retired]; captain Leah Williamson [injury]; Lucy Parker [injury]; super-sub Alessio Ruosso [injury].
Lotte Wubben-Moy and Nikita Parris have been called up to join the Lionesses.
Although the game is classed as a "friendly", it is a prelude to the Women`s World Cup and the whole of England [with maybe a few exceptions] wants The Lionesses to beat the Americans and wipe the grin off the face of USA captain Megan Rapino.
Can The Lionesses do it, with a loss of key players from Euro ? The resounding answer is YES !!!!
Believe...
So looking forward to this game....

The Lionesses beat USA, the World Champions 2-1 yesterday. I didn't watch it all but it looked like a good game. 😊

I watched the second half. It was a great game and result. The Lionesses are a hell of a team.

Brillant game.
Lucy Bronze played a superb game, preventing Rapino from having any chance for the USA.
OK, so England made a couple of errors, notably passing the ball back to goal keeper too many times which USA could have capitalized on.
Another "friendly" for the Lionesses next Tuesday - 11 Oct - at Brighton v Czech Republic live on ITV 1 from 7.30pm, kick off 8.00pm.
Can`t wait...

I saw the Lioness result but unfortunately missed the game. However is a great result against the world champions and a fantastic achievement considering the lack of some some key players.
In other news I went to my first Championship game for a good number of years, I couldn't believe the standard compared to the Premier League, it seemed slower, with long range passes barely finding players and a lack of rhythm across the park. Maybe I went to a bad game but from what I saw, I truly don't think those teams will make it to the Premier League any time soon. 😳

Half watched the Arsenal Women's game last night against the current French and European champions Lyon.
When the draw was made I didn't think much of the team's chances making it to the knock-out rounds.
Well.
The final score was 5-1 to Arsenal but the story of the game is that Lyon didn't know what was going on.
Last night was only Lyon's 2nd home defeat in 83 games.
They have not lost by more than 1 goal in the CL since 2009.
And they have not conceded 5 goals since 2005.
While I think there is still a way to go before Arsenal are favorites in the final, this win will have made quite a few sit up and take notice...

Beth has been simply unplayable for the last 12 months or so - since not making the Olympics squad really.
The biggest surprise for last night was Viv Miedema being on the bench with Frida Maanum starting.
Caitlin has also been excellent, but the whole team played really well.
Considering how Arsenal fared against Barcelona in the group games last year, who were in the final and were outclassed by Lyon it is a big step forward.
