Although I do love metal, all my favorite tunes from them are older than 2012 haha

Gotta be 'Hey Ho' by the Lumineers for me

Amazing club track that has so many variants.

I think the newest bit of metal I liked was korn haha.

Think that Avenged Sevenfold confirms that Metal has achieved the level of Status Quo: 4 chords for every song. Reminds me a lot of Iron Maiden circa '84...

Well if you must ask, then this year has been relatively mediocre (again) so I'm voting for Carly Rae Jepson purely because its a fun song and the cover/parody versions on YouTube were good. Well this version was by Alex Goot and I'm impressed by the lad's other stuff and there's a fantastic amount of artists out there on youtube who are far better than the mainstream who should be mainstream!

Other than that, the Goyte one eventually became good though radio infusion but really is a cover version of Ba-Ba-Black sheep.

darling... four chords? as a musician i have to disagree, not for EVERY song  and Alex Clare was cool, brought dubstep to the mainstream

Avenged are good but their guitarists are highly overrated 😞

If I play fast enough it doesn't matter if I hit the right notes is not the attitude to have haha.

Alexi lahio now that's what I enjoy from metal these days.

aaaah!!! they arent highly overrated!! they are specialists in spanish guitar, latin guitar, Zacky and Syn studied in many different styles, learnt to form a sound together, able to do things most guitarists dream of!high octave, speed playing, they are killer live and ROCK MY WORLD!!!! XD seriously, as a musician, they are badass. yes, there may be better ones out there, But few at that age have done that amount...

And as ive now found out about the metalheads on here! why were you all so silent?
