Hey eveyone,

Did anyone catch the launch of Elon Musk's launch of the new heavy payload Falcon rocket last night? The launch was the first test of the rocket which can carry an impressive payload of 64 tons! This is twice the capacity of existing launch vehicles. Most impressively the 3 boosters returned to earth and 2 of the 3 managed to land! Elon Musk even sent his car into orbit around the Sun

The success of the launch has a lot of potential for future space exploration due the the much heaver and larger payloads that can be sent into space in one go!

What do you guys think about the launch? A great step forward or was it a vanity project for a billionaire?

Thanks for the offer @Marjo but I think I'll stay Earth bound for now!

Sounds a bit cowardly to me @Martin-O2...though I can't fault your decision...:joy:

@Cleoriff I think I'll wait until space travel is a little more pedestrian before a jump aboard!

I think your right @Glory1. Unless there is some new technology comes a long to dramatically reduce the cost I'm unlikely to see the inside of a spaceship.

Yes @Martin-O2 space travel is out of the question unless you are very wealthy. Pity because I would love to go into space.

You need to get yourself to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, it's quite awe-inspiring 😃

If it was available at the moment, we could have a community meet-up... in space!
