Bad news for  holiday makers using Eurostar this month. RMT have announced a 7 day strike is planned during August....

They discussed this on the Wright Stuff yesterday. During a phone in they spoke to two conductors. Very interesting to hear their take on this. (The lone woman scenario was one they raised)

Southern Rail have called off their proposed strike action.

Ahh I'm travelling next week via Eurostar and almost panicked when reading this! My trip is on the next day after the strike ends...

Let's hope there isn't a backlog then @Marjo. They did advise people to phone first

Strikes have started today on Eurostar. Two planned today but authorities state it will only be a total of 4% of all trains and talks are ongoing...http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-37049260

No they didn't. Just two trains failed to run yesterday which had limited impact....and then they called the rest of the strike off....
