Yes @dgilbert2
This was a long time ago but when I'm stung as they were expert at stinging like nettles or Wasps it's hard to forgive and forget 🤕 it's an injury, it's embedded in my mind.

I can understand that @TallTrees

I'm like that with Virgin. Once bitten twice shy as they say.

I don't think that is too bad really  ~ they do not exist for me ~ I take the list very seriously

@TallTrees

You will be amazed to know that I have never had a problem with Currys/PC World either.

Bought a laptop, it started playing up after 3 months. They exchanged it immediately.

A new microwave combi oven...the interior light blew after a month. After a discussion with Team Knowhow, we took it back and it was changed with no question innocent

Hi @Cleoriff

No I am not surprised ~ I probably smoothed the way for youwink

This was 2009 I bought a computer (always bought from there) fine

10 months later it completely failed ~ was under 12 months guarantee I had all docs.

Went into P.C. world store, was told they won't take it in for repair and no exchange

and no refund, got quite nasty.  I was told Ring Technical Support.

I did.  Tech Support couldn't fix it with me, then made a statement ~ "you know their "master care" ~

PC World won't take this back even if you had taken out the extra insurance cover."

I tried Customer Support by phone ~ no way would they take it back/repair/exchange didn't want to know.

I tried several avenues and no go..

Wrote to CEO no way they were not going to take it back/exchange anything.

I had never come across that attitude anywhere before.

So I went into the Local Court and asked if I could get my money back through small claims,

they said yes and helped me fill in the forms.  I just asked for my money back with

no extras (lovely me).  Then a reply came from PC.World legal dept., said that they

would strongly defend the case. So on we went to hearing date, then out of the blue

came a cheque in the post for me full refund!  I went to the court to declare that they

had refunded me and closed the case.yahoo

They didn't want the pc back either so I sold it for spares/repairs.

So that covered my costs of going in and out telephone calls and the rest of it.

Since then I would not go back to PC World  and would not buy another Computer nor

anything else ~ and I had bought from Currys many household items but no more.

I have bought from other honourable stores and I feel happy with that.smiley

I am glad they are treating you properly and so they should.  Lots of best wishes TallTrees

Just thought I would update on PCWorld through TrustPilot reviews ~ not much seems to have changed there reviews are mostly terrrible 80% bad. I use reviews alot now on everything I can, before I buy or use the Company. Thinking

@TallTrees, OMG, what effort (& stress) you had to go through with PC world perserving

I feel though that with any large company today, its OK if everything goes "to plan". As soon as something out the ordinary happens, it can get very very painful, especially with overseas call centres. Perhaps I should not say that bit!?

BTW, congratulations on your "Most Interesting Thread" award, well deserved!!!!!

Mine is probably still in the post LOL

Hello @dgilbert2

Thank you very much I enjoyed the Thread too!  Smiley Very Happy

~ I do seem to have an eventful life though!

Sometimes upsettingly eventful and sometimes wonderfully happy eventful!

All is experience ~ I am trying to learn from it ~ however new and untried

events are evolving and mutating to catch me out!!Cry

And ~ to put it in your "words" OMG it can be utterly stressful, not to mention the work involved.

I cling on to the view that I have always had "there are more good than bad"

BUT .......... I ask myself ..............will that continue to be my view and my experience in the future  ? Confused
