Hey everyone,

Welcome to the O2 Community movie night! After a week of voting we've decided on Signs as the movie to watch and tonight's the night yahoo

How is this going to work?

We'll all start the film at the same time, I'm thinking 8pm if that works for everyone? Then we can then discuss the movie as it happens in the comments of this thread. smile Feel free to get involved even if you only have Signs on a Blu-Ray or another streaming service. wink

There is a fantastic range of movies and TV shows that have just hit Disney+ with the launch of Disney Star so if everyone has fun tonight we can make it a regular feature. cool

Get your Disney+ Extra. Whether you’re new to O2 or upgrading, you can get 6 months of Disney+ on us, with our latest plans. Simply choose it as your Extra when you checkout.

Not ready for an upgrade? Add Disney+ as an Extra to your current plan via My O2 for £5.99 a month, and we’ll give you £2 a month off your bill.

Already got Disney+? That's no reason to miss out on 6 months on us. You can choose Disney+ as an Extra even if you're already a subscriber. Check out our Disney+ Extra FAQs for more info.

And with that I need you all to promise me that you will never ever ever vote for a horror movie on movie night or else I am gonna die

Hmmm. Was it supposed to be a semi horror suspense scifi movie? Distinctly unimpressed with the ending and lack of imagination by throwing in a token alien with a weakness of um, er water! So aliens travel across space and miraculuosly managed to eradicate condensation? And planned a worldwide invasion by using the shipping forecast on Radio 4 to avoid bad weather?

Though one thing, who needs cat filters: I'm going to get a tin foil hat for work video calls yahoo

That's exactly what we were talking about last night @sheepdog but then again I suppose it was quite scary back in 2002? Because judging by my degree of chicken-ness this wasn't too scary (even though I still jumped a couple of times)

He's also not keen on series. (Unless it's Line Of Duty).

I insisted on watching an excellent programme of BBC called The Serpent. This was based on a true story about Charles Sobhraj who travelled through Asia in the 70's, with his girlfriend, killing students, whilst posing as a gem dealer. It was excellent. However every time it was on Ray said, 'is this the last episode'?

It was well worth the watch, only 8 episodes long. Fascinating to see the work of a Dutch diplomat and Interpol who tracked him down and eventually caught him.

The Serpent is absolutely amazing! My partner's nan kept telling us to watch this series called "The Diamond" on BBC as apparently it is really good. Took us a while to figure out she meant The Serpent joy Bless her

Sorry guys I missed out on Movie Night.

Sounds like everyone enjoyed it and, in some cases with alcohol-assistance yahoo

I would so love a horror movie night. I`m sure that film-buffs on here could come up with some good nominations and provide @TheresaV with a cushion to hide behind and a couple of bottles of wine to see her through it.

Okay I have to admit I like the idea of someone providing me with a couple of bottles of wine to see me through but I think I need more than one pillow to hide behind joy

I purposely didn't watch this because i wanted to try and get the story from your posts.. I'd suggest trying it.. its mind bending

The film.

So some bird called Isabel, is foreign, has an ugly baby, maybe an uber driver, not very good at DIY... goes to see what all the commotion is in the middle of a field in the middle of the night. Aliens presumably, who have rabies or are afraid of the sea.

Members of the forum.

All have issues.. some with alcohol & some are just big sissys.

Close?

The Serpent was brilliant and epitomised the Thai police who don't investigate crimes on Johnny Foreigners unless the crimes are carried out by them against a Thai national

I loved the series, all locations I had visited and was a true reflection on life in the tourist hotspots of Asia

Isabelle was a dog, the four-legged variety and was the second dog who met her demise at the claws of Aliens

The first dog was murdered by the pug-ugly kid with a barbecue fork

Magical planks of wood were produced to board up windows and doors but the aliens came through the roof

Finally the family descended to the cellar by torchlight but they forgot about the cellar coal shute

Apparently water 'burnt' the aliens and once the rain came (or snow?)they all disappeared from whence they came

Only then did @TheresaV emerge from behind the sofa with her third wine bottle in hand!

Enjoyed the film actually as it was years ago I first watched it and forgotten a lot of the funny and ludicrous bits

This should be a monthly event on the community slight_smile
