I have all the info about the new series which starts in January 2023.

I will write about the contestants later but wanted to get the thread started.

The judges are Christopher Dean, Jayne Torvill, Oti Mabuse and Ashley Banjo.

Presenters are unchanged with Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield.

We appear to only have 11 contestants this year, unless they have another one, yet to be revealed?

Checking them over, there will many comments such as 'Who the  hell are they?'

All I will say, until my next post, we have

A Drag Artist

A The Wanted band member

A Love Island Contestant

An actress from Corrie

A retired Footballer

An Olympian

A Liberty X singer

A Comedian

A Hollyoaks actress

A Towie 'star'

An Actress ( retired) from Eastenders (now a DJ)

More to follow .... (I bet you can't wait @Mi-Amigo @sheepdog) 😂

So, tonights uncanny resemblance goes to Ashley Banjo for er, V for Vendetta:

V_for_Vendetta

Holly in a dress with an interesting mic placement. Moti, don't think red lipstick matched the look and Phil, well two weeks in a row with a suit and tie and two weeks in a row both dark.Perhaps he should colour co-ordinate with Holly?

Joey: Missed this one due to me falling asleep at the end of the football and forgetting to turn over.

Flatsy: Came out with intent but how could I have missed not envisaging Ginger Spice in the union jack dress? Three weeks too late to save herself.

Niles: Outfit and routine of the night by far. Either the camera work was a little off but did I spot some synch issues? Can only get more impressive from now on.

Darren: Interesting fun fact about the tune: I'm your man is that it has a BPM of 132. Darren put a decimal point in to skate at 13.2 with grinding to a halt at times. Not his best and now a firm favourite to exit next week.

Bo(tox) Selecta: Was left disappointed with it. Skated far better last week although this one had its errors, I just thought it wasn't executed well even without the errors. Also overmarked.

Carley: Thought this might be safe but actually liked the routine and her landings and transitions were excellent. However, the camera angle on the judges challenge still didn't disguise it was a bit of a flop. Has to do more solo skating or she's going in three weeks.

Molly: Hmm. Song was awful full stop. As for the routine, had some confidence issues in the first part of the skate and needs to work on smoothing out her transitions. The lead up to the headbanger was her best part by far.

The question of the night: was Mr Blobby more coherent than Bez? Though is it too far fetched to imagine Bez is Mr Blobby?

Musical act was quite decent for a change over the skaters. Won't be seeing BTTF The Musical though.

Skate-off: was there any real dilemma here? Now if Darren can speed and be more consistent like his skate-off, he may just save himself from leaving the show next week. Probably not but Molly needs to be better next week or she may be the unfortunate one.

I usually flick to  FB and the Dancing on Ice posts. A great deal of outrage on that page. They have sussed that the judges have their favourites and come hell or high water the judges will ensure these favourites are marked high. One comment made...The Vivienne messed up a lift, judges give an extra mark for that, failed the challenge, another mark for that! Compared his marks with Joey and Mollie. It was pointed out that Mollie started her headbanger from a standing position which is far harder than doing it from laying on the ice yet no extra marks for that. Enraged that the camera tried to hide Carley's flop of 3 revolutions and only managed two (just like Mollie) yet scored 4 more points, although skated less alone than Mollie did.. The group tends to love Sylvain and all picked up at his 'disgust' at the first 3 marks.

All agree that Nile is head and shoulders above the rest.

Thank you @Cleoriff for this week`s list of songs, they`ll be skating to.

Hope Mollie nails it and finally gets scores from judges she deserves.

Hmm some strange choices of songs. Think this week is going to be a challenge for Joey to produce a decent routine - just youtube'd it and it's about as bland as a movie song goes. Unless something imaginative happens with Carly, she may be the shock second person in the skate-off.

Darren's choice is fast paced and unless he's got a rocket booster on for the skate, we know who will be in the Danger Zone. Or was that some dark humour from the show's producers? Yet I would say the same thing for Nile's choice but he's way way above everyone so this one should be good considering the MI tune is an absolute classic. We'll probably get the U2 version but I'll leave this version by the composer himself for you to enjoy:

MOVIES WEEK - Sun 19 Feb

Judges` Challenge - freestyle jump, two feet off ice

Opening - celebs skating to Star Wars theme

The Vivienne and Colin. Fast; completed Judges` Challenge.

Ashley 9.0; Oti 9.0; Jane 9.0; Chris 9.0 = 36.0. Overscored.

Darren and Tippy. not much solo skating; stumble on Judges` Challenge; tried jumping over Tippy.

Ashley 7.5; Oti 7.0; Jane 7.0; Chris 7.0 = 28.5 agree with judges.

Mollie and Sylvain. good skate, completed Judges` Challenge; did airplane. I loved routine.

Ashley 7.5; Oti 7.5; Jane 7.5; Chris 7.5 = 30.0. Criticised for lack of confidence when skating solo!!

Underscore. We are meant to believe The Vivienne was worth score of 6 points more than Mollie !!!

Joey and Vanessa. good performance, completed Judges` Challenge; did cartwheel on ice.

Ashley 8.5; Oti 8.5; Jane 7.5; Chris 8.0 = 32.5. Underscored.

Siva and Klabera. reasonable skate, camera didn`t show feet in Judges` Challenge.

Ashley 8.0; Oti 8.5; Jane 8.0; Chris 8.0 = 32.5. Not as good as Joey, so why same score ?

Carley and Mark. Supporting professional skaters; did hop in Judges` Challenge; also did assisted jump.

Ashley 9.0; Oti 9.0; Jane 9.0; Chris 9.0 = 36.0. Once again, judges` favourite is overscored; and Chris said "no mistakes" - was he watching ? Maybe the producers have told judges to overscore Carley and uunderscore

Mollie knowing this will annoy viewers who will phone with votes and up revenue from calls.

Nile and Olivia. Brilliant fast performance; completed Judges`s Challenge. Best performance of night.

Ashley 9.0; Oti 9.0; Jane 8.5; Chris 8.5 = 35.0. Underscored. Criticised for skating apart - FGS. Obviously Jane

and Chris couldn`t give the best skater the same score as their darling little favourite Carley, could they ?

After break, Diversity performed to "Caught Up" with Ashley and Perrie taking to the ice.

Public vote [added to Judges` scores] - saved and through to next week -

Mollie and Sylvain; The Vivienne and Colin; Carley and Mark; Joey and Vanessa; Nile and Olivia

Skate off = Darren and Tippy v Siva and Klabera. Right two pairs in skate-off in my opinion

Judges` vote to save =

Ashley - save Siva; Oti - save Siva; Jane - save Siva; Chris - save Siva. I agree with judges`.

Next week - PROPS WEEK.

One of my favourite weeks. Looking forward to seeing what prop each celeb has to skate with.

Thanks for the write up @Mi-Amigo

We differ on some points. 😂

The Vivienne and Colin. Superb skate. Very impressive. Did the judges challenge twice. Agree with judges scores.

Darren and Tippy. Not impressed. Very jerky. I didn't notice him completing judges challenge but maybe I blinked. Agree with score.

Mollie and Sylvain. Stupid comment from Chris "as you did the headbanger last week, we are expecting more" WHAT? Two headbangers??!! Having said that, this wasn't her best skate. She did tend to lose momentum when skating alone. I fully expected her to be in the skate off.

Joey and Vanessa. I thought it was good although a tad boring. Except for the great cartwheel

Siva and Klabera Was ok but had an additional week to perfect his last weeks routine. Just needed to add judges challenge. Very annoying! Overmarked.

Carley and Mark. Hate to say it but it was a damn good routine. I can't take to her though, so will say no more.

Niles and Olivia. Such a shame that he attempted to pack so much into the routine which left him open to a couple of errors.

Diversity

What an absolutely stunning routine. They can do that every week for me and I would never get bored. Great to see Perry back on the ice and completing his marvellous back flip. Ashley did damn well with his skating and dancing. Just superb.

Skate Off...Siva and Darren

The right one (Darren) was sent home but I fear Mollie is on borrowed time sadly.

Looking forward to Props week.

So tonights Uncanny resemblance goes yet again to Ashley Banjo who dressed up as the Engineer from Alien Covenant:

Engineer

Can't see it? Well perhaps the grey suit and a sharpie beard might help 🤣 Ah, looks like we have  Oti as Oti herself in tonights outfit. Woo-hoo. Then a smile came over my face with the thought "@Cleoriff is going to be reminded about something" when the camera panned to Holly. So here's the reminder from page 3:

sheepdog_0-1676842893982.png

And here's the evidence that might just refute that:

IMG_1103.JPG

Actually, yes it was a stunning dress that worked remarkably well under the lights. Phil Schofield wore some sort of oversized 70's armchair velour. I did spend some time trying to figure out where they put the lapel mic on Holly as that was a challenge with the reflections. Go right from her ring finger and you can just see the small white top of the mic on the top of the V.

Bo(tox) Selecta: Thought a bit too posing with the arm movements and a bit too safe. Also slow which was probably the main issue with me as was the over-marking. May be hitting the plateau.

Darren: The motorbike and the opening look were the best bits. Like the original Top Gun, no substance and the best actors were the airplanes. No speed at all which has been his downfall.

Mollie: Started off with good intent but overdid it with the concentration which lead it being a bit contrived. We had her down as the other skate-off contender on that skate. Sadly, unless next week is better and consistent through the routine she will be going home.

Joey: Not bad for Joey, good acting skills but the odd mistake here and there but better than Bo(tox) Selecta for me.

Siva: As Joey's nearest rival, see above comments.

Carley: Hmm, mixed views on this. Not sure if it was a better routine than last week or the reliance on backup skaters distracts from her inability to go it alone. Otherwise her stage skills shone through but not enough wow in her skate to say it was worth 36 unless she was the judges favourite. Barely completed the judges challenge.

Niles: Ah they picked the original tune to IM! Liked the routine but a couple of minor mistakes especially at the end just took the gloss off. Totally disagreed with T&D on their comments and yes undermarked! Still way ahead of everyone else.

The Diversity pre-results show. Boy was that a show! A Michael Jackson breakdance inspired routine was fantastic. And now we can't slate Ashley Banjo for not being able to skate! Maybe he should have done tonight's judges challenge just to top it off 😎 Though rightly outshone by Perry's tricks and flips.

Skate-off was a case of Darren just going through the motions. Unfortunately it would not have mattered as Siva pulled out one of the best skate-off routines I've seen so there was no chance of him going.

So Props week is next week's theme. I take it my suggestion of a cattle prod for Mark to help Carley skate alone won't be taken up by the producers?

As soon as I saw Holly's dress I thought I would get it in the neck from you 😂

No matter, it was hardly bacofoil and she wears ANY clothes better than Tess Whatsername from SCD. 😎
