The new series of Dancing On Ice officially starts in January 2020, although there will be a Christmas Special in 2019.
Last year a few people posted on the thread including @Glory1 so we will see how we go this year.
The main news is Jason Gardiner has left the show and John Barrowman will replace him. So no more nasty comments (shame)
The contestants are....
Maura Higgins (from Love Island)
Michael Barrymore.
Joe Swash (ex Eastenders now TV Presenter)
H From Steps. He will make history as the first contestant to dance with a same sex partner.
(Not sure how that will work but let's wait and see)....
Perri Kiely (Dancer from Diversity) Let's see how Ashley Banjo marks him!!)
Lisa George (Who plays Beth Tinker in Coronation Street)
Libby Clegg (Registered Blind Paralympian)
Trisha Goddard (Talk show host/TV Presenter)
Lucrezia Millarini (ITV news presenter)
Kevin Kilbane (Former Footballer and TV Pundit)
Ben Hanlin. Magician (best known for TV show Tricked)
Caprice Bourret (Model, Actress Blah blah blah )
And that's it. I've counted and there seems to be more contestants this year?
It will be presented as usual by Phil and Holly.
Looking forward to it.

So again a post in 2 parts due to all the ADS!!
Group opening routine was good though nothing special really. News of the week is that Perrie's partner Vanessa Bauer fell into the barrier during the week and has a concussion. Luckily they skated last week as a couple so it just meant Perrie had to skate on his own in the 'group' dance. I say group as the celebs did nothing much at all.
Maura and Alexander. Skated to Juice and it was a good first skate. Only scored 22.00 though so it appears the judges aren't being so positive this week.
Lucrezia and Brendyn. Spent most of the time being lifted so I wasn't impressed Scored 18.00
Kevin and Brianne. Apparently this couple are now in a relationship. She will need to teach him to skate better. Having said that, he was useless when they started practice. Scored 18.5
Caprice and Hamish. Well that raised the bar a lot. Great first skate. Scored 22.5
Posting now...2 more to skate and I'm sure there will be a million more adverts!!

I find DOI so much more watchable and graceful.

So anyway...
Radzi and Jess. Considering he stepped in for Michael Barrymore he did pretty well. Scored 21.00
Libby and Mark Now I have to be careful here as I need to bear in mind Libby is a paralympian and severely sight impaired. She did a damn good routine, there is no doubt of that. However, she did as many lifts as they criticised Lucrezia for. No surprise that she scored the highest of everyone. Yes she was fast but was never solo. Not sure she ever will be either. So I am not one for sympathy votes.
A great first effort and scored 28.
Was that better than Perrie last week? Nowhere near in my opinion. Controversial I know but there you go.
Off to eat. Lol

So the skate off was between Lucrezia and Brendyn and Trisha and Lucasz.
Trisha is out. Right decision.

I havn't been watching DOI because of Philip Schofield shouting - doesn't he realise this ?
Also, because of all those darned adverts ... it just gets me irritated and spoils the whole programme.
Can't you record it @Anonymous then flick through the adverts?
By the way, It's Musicals Week next Sunday.

I would enjoy Musicals Week and do so very miss seeing the skating
Have poor track record re: recording tv programmes then trying to flick through the adverts
However, as ever, your encouragement has made me want to try to watch DOI again
DOI spends more on Holly Willoughby's gowns than SCD do on Tess Daly's frocks ?

Probably lol...Holly has far more style than Tess Daly. Her dresses are lovely and unlike Tess, I have never seen her in bacofoil....
