ITV have started revealing the names of the candidates for Dancing On Ice 2025.

This is a show watched and commented on by myself, @sheepdog and @Mi-Amigo and others.

First candidate is

FERNE McCANN

DOI 25 Fern.jpg

DOI 25 Fern.jpg

Ferne is classed as a TV personality who appeared in TOWIE

Then we have

Mollie PEARCE

DOI 25 Mollie.jpg

Mollie appeared in The Traitors. (I didn't watch the show so know nothing else about her)

The 3rd candidate to be revealed was:

Sir Steve Redgrave.

DOI 25 STEVE.jpg

Steve is well known as an Olympic rower who won gold medals at five consecutive Olympic Games from 1984 to 2000. He has also won three Commonwealth Games gold medals and nine World Rowing Championships golds. He is the most successful male rower in Olympic history, and the only man to have won gold medals at five Olympic Games in an endurance sport.

The 4th Contestant is :

Sam Aston.

DOI 25 Sam.jpg

Sam plays Chesney Brown in Coronation Street. He's been in the show for a long time.

Apparently all the contestants start training next week for 2 hours a day.  Steve said they are banned from the ice until they start training.

There are a total of 12 contestants.

What a damn palaver finding the songs for Week Two skaters!!

Wiki posted nothing (up to now)

Eventually found this on Instagram but nothing anywhere yesterday or this morning.

No idea why it has to be such a secret!!

Mollie Pearce and Colin:  Vampire by Olivia Rodrigo

Steve Redgrave and Vicky : Rock The Boat By The Hues Corporation.

Charlie Brooks and Eric : Gimme, Gimme, Gimme by Sgt. Slick

Josh Jones and Tippy :  I Don't Feel Like Dancing by The Scissor Sisters

Dan Edgar and Vanessa : Bad Habits by Ed Sheeran.

No idea what order they are in but at least we have the music now!!

The show started with Praise You.

Charlie and Eric : Gimme, Gimme, Gimme.

A good  first skate, with too many lifts. Lots of energy but her lift dismounts were clumsy. Score 26

Steve and Vicky : Rock the Boat.

Oh dear. I thought we had another Bez without the crash helmet. Apparently improved from bootcamp. Limited ability aand relied onVicky too much Score17.5

Mollie and Colin : Vampire.

Considering she had a wrist injury and couldn't practice for 4 weeks, this was a great skate.

Plenty of difficult lifts which complimented her skate. Well done Score 29.5

Josh and Tippy : I don't feel like Dancing.

Another one claims to be accident prone. Out of time. Poor routine. Score 20.5

Dan and Vanessa : Bad Habits.

Has skated before. Excellent performance Score 29..

Disney On Ice superb

Professiona Skaters lovely dance.

Very quick vote at the end (5 minutes)

I demand a recount!

Chelsea and Andy are out..... Poor when we see Josh and Steve are still in to skate again for Movie Week!!

Oh well those voting are saying it's an ENTERTAINMENT show...oh well, lets take the skates off!!

Pfffttt!! 😂

Wikipedia is about trustworthy as a 3p bit 😋  Not a great colour suit by the Mulherne and all I could think off was hand-cuffs with Holly's dress 🤔. DOI do need to revamp this pairing should it get another series.

Charlie and Eric: She'll only get so far with her acting ability to mask how poor she was. It will show in the next couple of weeks unless she improves her solo ability.

Bez and Vicky:  And here we have this weeks worst outfit. You should have heard the howls of "no, no, no" in our household when he was revealed in shorts. Which even as a look didn't help the complete lack. Just complete lack of everything.

Mollie and Colin: Not bad and a good decision to do off-ice work in the injury period as that showed. One to keep on eye on and lets hope when she skates solo, it matches the rest of the performance.

Josh and Tippy: A comedian? Oh an "Alternative Comedian". As in Alternative Universe. Really annoying personality but I'll admit, he did do a lot of skating by himself which probably was in time in the other universe. Whether he progresses is really up to him to tone down his (annoying) personality to cover up his lack in certain areas and focus on improving his weaknesses. When you have zero fanbase, you have to show you are trying with the public vote or you are gone.

Dan and Vanessa: Sponsored by the Turkish Dental Association. Up to now, there was no-one to challenge Michela in this weeks show. Now we have one. Really good, smooth, confidence and speed. Not sure the judges were being fair on the apparent disconnect with Vanessa given it is week 1 and it was a good skate.

A dance routine by Disney on Ice which wasn't bad but was that Bez in the Mickey Mouse outfit? And a rather sharp exit by Mickey and Moana before the competition info as Disney explicitly bans any association of their property with gambling.

Oh the Pro dance routines were rather good. Not sure if Karen and Dan were (in their token appearance) were being polite in not saying which are their top 3 are. Or they saying nobody is as good as the last series to even contemplate it. Think it's a bit obvious now after two shows who's not and who is. Michela/Dan/Anton would be my top 3 so far with Sam/Mollie/Ferne following in the 2nd tier.

As for the vote announcement, that was delivered with the enthusiasm and suspense of a weather forecast! Where was the drama we are so used to? To be honest, Chelsee was in my bottom two anyway but wrongly kicked off this week in favour of Bez mk2.

Movie week brings us...oh dear, I don't want to know given that list that was rattled off at the end.

My comments/opinion

Charlie and Eric :

Good skate but too many lifts.

Steve and Vicky :

Poor skate, relied on Vicky. Is he going to be the Bez of DOI 2025 ?

Mollie and Colin :

Excellent skate. Good lifts - after being out of practice due to wrist injury. My fav skate of the night.

Josh and Tippy :

Poor skate.

Dan and Vanessa :

Excellent skate - although has skated before. My other fav skate.

Overall, a poor show - with only two couples who gave an entertaining and good performance -

Mollie and Colin; and Dan and Vanessa.

Vote off - Chelsee and Andy - agree

Hopefully Josh and Steve get voted off next week.

Pretty poor showing that we lost Chelsea instead of Steve.

Having said that, people will remember the amount of gold medals he won as an Olympian.

Still, as I'm constantly reminded, it's an entertainment show. Sorry but Steve and his shorts didn't entertain me one iota. 😂

I feel like a moan so here I go. It's Saturday and not one article is showing the skate music for week 3!!

If I could be assed I'd write to ITV and ask what's their problem?

FGS, even Olympic Ice Skaters make no secret of their musical routines!!

We had Wiki the first week

Instagram the 2nd week

and this week we simply have a graph from Wiki with the names of judges, dancers and partners.

The music section is empty.

Racked off with it.

Rant Over!! 😖

I'll moan again. Today I have checked Dancing On Ice on :

Twitter (X)

Instagram

FB

Wikipedia

Digital Spy

Entertainment Daily

RadioTimes

ITV X.

NOT ONE  has any information on the music for Week 3 (Movies) and we are now on the day of the show!

So many complaints about this on Twitter.

All I can suggest is, we try and pick it up when watching the show and make a note in our write ups.

I would say I've spent well over 2 hrs looking for this info AND I'M NOT DOING IT AGAIN!!!

They really need to get this show together if it runs again!!
