With the announcement that Kyle Minogue is doing a cover of Oasis song "Stop Crying Your Heart Out" for Children In Need - see here [scroll down for video]

I was wondering what are your favourite cover versions of well-known songs ?

Here is one of mine

Some people see things as they are and ask "Why?"; I dream of things that never were and ask "Why not?"

There are quite a few I could name. Here a few (original artist in brackets):

Blacktop Mojo - Dream On (Aerosmith)

Jimi Hendrix - All Along The Watchtower (Bob Dylan)

Black Stone Cherry - Can't You See (The Marshall Tucker Band)

Metallica - Astronomy (Blue Oyster Cult)

I could actually name quite a few Metallica ones here:

Am I Evil? (Diamond Head)

Turn The Page (Bob Seger)

Stone Cold Crazy (Queen)

Thanks

Steve

As good as that is @pgn, I do prefer the Bob Dylan version. The man was a poet. More like a busker at times. As for the song, I think it has now been classed as the anthem for 2020!

Just heard that Dylan has handed rights to his entire catalogue over to Universal - wonder how that will impact all the cover versions of his work, royalties, etc...? Thoughful

Yes, it was on the news last night. The terms of the deal weren't made public but thought to be 100's of millions of dollars @pgn

I heard the figure of $228M mentioned
I would have thought once sold the royalties would go to the buyer of the rights?
