Some people see things as they are and ask "Why?"; I dream of things that never were and ask "Why not?"

EE next with the roaming charges...😖

One ray of sunshine, however:

  • The change will not apply to customers travelling to the Republic of Ireland.

If you listen to the news, it's a shocking scenario. Transport companies who relied on foreign drivers, now can't function above 60%. The drivers made their way home during lockdown and haven't returned. Driving a massive artic lorry requires special skills and they can't fill positions.

So pan camera to the large stores like Asda and Morrisons and find the shelves empty. They were interviewing a few people who said they would be buying their turkeys and Christmas lunch trimmings asap. Add all this to Covid which stopped many working and we are heading for flustercuck.

As laughable as it seems, I sent Ray on a cucumber hunt 3 weeks ago. 😂  It was still warm enough for salad but he couldn't get a bloody cucumber in any of the 5 major supermarkets!

And them turkeys and gammon joints will be fine until the first power dips of the autumn cause freezers to fail, and parts can't be got or delivered on time for replacement or repairs...

I think had Brexit not changed all the rules, impact of Covid on supply lines and people to get things from where they are to where they need to be would have been lessened. GB has made its own recovery much harder than it needs to be, as the lack of cucumbers shows...

Totally agree with the cartoon @pgn. However, I'm firmly of the opinion that people who voted to leave were ill informed, OR were of the opinion that raising the gates of the moat would return us to the glory days of the British Empire. I would also lay a bet that if we had another referendum (as if), the results would be totally different.

Finally, the politicians who gave us all the information initially, had absolutely no idea of the full implications which are only coming to light now.

Correct, @Cleoriff - every statement.

But anyone with half a brain, and those in power are not stupid (just greedy and selfish) would know that what is needed is co-operation, not isolationism.

And changing the team at the helm is not going to help, because the guys next in line want the exact same thing, albeit for different reasons.

Flustercuck is right.
