Laws being debated tomorrow that further restrict the individual's so-called civil liberties:
Seems to me that the law has been written specifically to restrain the guy who, pre-lockdown, used to stand outside Westminster with flags, placards and a tin megaphone:
Is this really a wise move?
Is Speaker's Corner now under threat?
What has it come to?

There's a lot of controversy about the vigil for Sarah Everard last night. Apparently the court would not make a decision on the vigil and said 'it was down to the police'.
The vigil wasn't just for Sarah, it was to draw attention to the safety of all women.
A great deal of anger has been aimed at the police for the way they broke up this quiet vigil.
There apears to be a variation of the rules between different police forces in the country.
People have stated the vigil was nothing like the Rangers fans celebrations a week ago.
(Maybe this post would have been better on the Covid 19 thread)

Not really, @Cleoriff - one is being used to mask (no pun intended!) the sins of the other: they are intertwined, conflated...
Yes they are intertwined @pgn. Ive just checked the news (in between F1 testing sessions) The vigil crowd was not as small as I first indicated but they were peaceful and all wearing masks.
I just think in this week which has included International Womens Day and Mothering Sunday as well as the death of Sarah Everard (who was killed by a policeman), the images of police dragging women to the floor and laying on top of them was absolutely disgraceful.
The message this week to all women has been 'Do not go out at night alone'
Last night they didn't and just look what happened.
