The BBC have announced that two patients in the UK have been diagnosed with the coronavirus.

No further details have been given other than they are both members of the same family and are receiving specialist NHS care.

At present, 83 Britons and 27 foreign nationals are flying back to the UK from Wuhan, the Chinese city at the centre of the outbreak.

The flight is due to land at RAF Brize Norton at 13:30 GMT.

The UK passengers will then be taken to Arrowe Park Hospital on the Wirral and quarantined for two weeks.

I read and heard that 1 in 547 people have covid-19 Delta now. Not evenly distributed but still a huge figure to get head around.
Like you @Cleoriff the results in a couple of weeks shouldn't come as a surprise.

June 23rd there are 16,135 cases today so well above the 15k estimate for July.
Doesn't look good presently the hospital cases haven't caught up yet they are 28 days behind for reporting.

Reporting seems to have taken a back seat - treating people like mushrooms.

A second, temporary, drive-through test centre was set up here earlier this week.... Thoughful

Of course. We recently started having these test events allowed by the government. 20,000-40,000 people allowed in at Wembley, Wimbledon allowing spectators, as is F1, cricket, Rugby. Not forgetting the recent music festival.

We have restrictions on people flying abroad for summer holidays and yet countries are mixing for these test events. No such thing as social distancing or wearing of masks.

Beggars belief really.

Amazing how the rules can be 'relaxed' for the glorious game...yet we can't go on holiday to countries with a much lower rate than ours. (Not that I would want to go abroad but my reason has nothing to do with Covid nowadays.)

My friends, with an apartment in Tenerife, took the massive step of becoming Spanish Citizens to get  over there. She is the President of the apartment community so it wasn't a holiday as such. Even now they have to jump through hoops testwise before they flew and currently will have to self isolate when they return.

He resigned due to his lack of social distancing and and extra marital activities! So he has ruined hiscareer and his marriage.

Why do people like him think they can get away with anything!
