Quite disappointed that people actually agree with the police over the two women who drove to meet up and have a walk. What harm were they doing? They drove to a more secluded spot with less people around. That is sensible.
What sort of country have we become where this sort of police behaviour is accepted?
I was walking back from shopping the other day.There was a policeman walking just behind us, and across the road were 2 dodgy looking people clearly smoking drugs (you could smell it clearly). The policeman ignored them. This is not acceptable.
The police are a disgrace and should concentrate on stopping real criminals.
From Matt Hancock stating that meeting anybody means people will die (absolutely incorrect and unnacceptable rhetoric), to the serious and doomsay gloom of the Chris Whitty TV advert, this country is now becoming a totalitarian ruled nanny state, with the government controlling every aspect of our lives. All pushed through fear, manipulated statistics, doomsday scenarios, and on many aspects, blatent lies.
Do you all really want to live like this? Because if you think everything will just go back to normal if we allow this to continue, then you are sadly mistaken. I am genuinly worried for our civil liberties and freedom.
I just find it staggering that not everyone can see what is going on here.
The government are now creating laws that control our lives without any parliamentary debate, without proper ascension through the house of lords. In fact, if you watch the Lord Sumption lecture I posted in a earlier post, he explains exactly how the government have acted unlawfully, yet sadly unopposed.
What the government and the sage advisers are doing to this country right now amounts to nothing short of a breach of human rights in my opionion.
Yes the virus exists, nobody is denying that. But it is not the monster it is being made out to be. It is not one that is going to wipe out populations because less than 1% of people in this world will not even get seriously ill from it. These restrictions are ruining people's lives, livliehoods and businesses, and are having a far worse effect on society as a whole than the virus ever will. Our children and their children are going to have nothing to live for if this continues.
Once the people who are susceptible to catching it i.e the same people that get their annual flu jab, or people who tend to "catch" colds etc whenever they are doing the rounds, in addition to anybody who has a serious underlying condition that may make them vulnerable, life should go back to normal. But this absolutely useless government are already trying to position the fact that this may not be the case. But why?
It doesn't matter if the healthy get covid, they will fight it without the need for a vaccine. Most people won't even get any symptoms. The people that will get seriously ill and possibly die if they catch covid will be protected by the vaccine, so won't be at risk, even if they come into contact with an asymptomatic carrier.
After all the doom and gloom of the past year, this government seem hell bent on making it continue, and maintain the shoving of propaganda down people's throats. They are so far removed from the realities of normal real life (due to their privileged lives), that they just cannot see the lasting damage they are doing to society.
Why not do what they are paid to do, and serve the public instead of themselves for once and start delivering good news, instead of acting like a bunch of communists.
