The BBC have announced that two patients in the UK have been diagnosed with the coronavirus.
No further details have been given other than they are both members of the same family and are receiving specialist NHS care.

At present, 83 Britons and 27 foreign nationals are flying back to the UK from Wuhan, the Chinese city at the centre of the outbreak.
The flight is due to land at RAF Brize Norton at 13:30 GMT.
The UK passengers will then be taken to Arrowe Park Hospital on the Wirral and quarantined for two weeks.

Interesting article about Spain being responsible for the increase in cases @pgn
Reporting disparities aside, the US early cases over on the western side, Washington state as I recall, were shown to be more closely related to some of the Chinese strains than were those in New York. Travel patterns may have been blamed.
And if it is the same predominantly in England that the strain matches that common in Spain, well - what was it about travel again? Where do people from these chilly climes tend to go to most often?
Speaking of which, travel controls and the Canaries were mentioned in dispatches again last night, can't remember the context this time.
Travel is all fine and well, but some form of test, track and trace would really help us understand, I think.

It doesn't surprise me about Spain though.....most popular country to travel to.

SO the scientists are saying more lockdown because its needed based on dodgy new modelling figures based on tenuous data gathering and hey look, we've got new coloured charts we discovered Excel can do!
Bonus: people in Wales get the added prize of being effectively locked down for another 3 weeks since we can't get out of Wales now.

Devolved governments may follow suit, I suspect, @sheepdog - although the local assembly leaders in Northern Ireland have said they still plan to reopen close-contact businesses (hair salons, beauty treatment clinics, etc) on 13-Nov-2020 as planned, despite the lockdown in England. Schools return on Monday 02-Nov-2020 after a two-week stop.

Little continuity re schools is there? Despite it being a lockdown in England, schools and Universities will remain open.
