The BBC have announced that two patients in the UK have been diagnosed with the coronavirus.

No further details have been given other than they are both members of the same family and are receiving specialist NHS care.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-51325192

At present, 83 Britons and 27 foreign nationals are flying back to the UK from Wuhan, the Chinese city at the centre of the outbreak.

The flight is due to land at RAF Brize Norton at 13:30 GMT.

The UK passengers will then be taken to Arrowe Park Hospital on the Wirral and quarantined for two weeks.

A country wide lockdown is not what is best, and I do not understand how anybody thinks this is a good idea.  There are large areas of the country where the cases are very low, and have been throughout this.  Is it fair to lock up people who live in these areas, because of crowded cities and towns have large case numbers?

I really really wish the government and people in general stopped getting hung up on cases.  A case doesn't represent somebody being ill, it represents somebody testing positive for ANY coronavirus (including the common cold).  The test being used doesn't test for Covid-19 specifically. What sort of society have we become when it is illegal to go outside if you have a sniffle?

Hospitals are not being overrun as the power people are saying. The people "on the ground" are saying this is not the case, yet this is not what is being told to us by the likes of whitty and vallance in these pointless, staged press conferences.  The NHS is there to care for people, and we all pay money towards it through our taxes.  What about the so-called nighingale hospitals?  What;s happened to those? Weren't they supposed to easy the burden on hospitals?

The whole thing has been the biggest con and over-reaction in human history.  All this for a virus that is so-deadly (NOT!) that you have to have a test to even know if you've got it, and which has a survival rate greater than 99%.

Ebola is deadly, with a mortality rate of anything between 25% & 90% compared to Covid's which is less than 1%.  Indeed, Covid's mortality rate is very similar to that of flu, and that's with a flu vaccine abd we have lived with that for donkeys rates even with a vaccine.

Covid, whilst potentially deadly to people with underlying conditions (and of course we should protect them by ensuring the care is available to them), it is nothing more than a mild illness, if anything at all, to 99% of the population.

Thanks

Steve

You speak well @welshsteve76

Why can't the Covidiots be targetted for their misbehaviour?  The few spoiling it for the many?

There are ruthless businessmen / women setting up music events in fields to sell drugs as their other outlets for street drug pushing are not available to them now ... ... ... is this true? ... ... ... I heard it reported on one of BBC's Radio Four News programmes

I live in Skipton, North Yorkshire, level 1 in the governments coronavirus regulations ... ... ... as I have posted recently it has been reported that the county is quite likely to have it's level altered to level 3 to fit in with the other nearby counties

My son and his wife live in Leeds, level 3 ... ... ... the last time I  saw them was the Saturday before last Christmas. My son calls me regularly during his lunch break - he works from home ... ... ... (he called me yesterday)

Looks like hot air being poor air is not just a myth - in the words of Elbow, "throw those curtains (and windows) wide":

Best of luck with that @jonsie

I was told we couldn't put a cat flap in our conservatory as it's 90% glass. So we had a small window at the bottom, beside the door. That stays open come rain, wind, snow or sun. Neither of my cats will use a litter tray. All the others did but not these two berks we have left!!

Does anyone else have a support bubble?

I do have to visit my elderly / infirm mother as she would deteriorate rapily if me and my sister left her on her own

My sister and me communicate via text about out mother

I get everything delivered to my door

I am part of a support bubble ... = ... 3 of us have bi-polar disorder with no official mental health support ... ... ... my GP is excellent but you can't get in touch with anyone at the medical practice I am registered at ... no-one answers the phone

The NHS non-emergency phone number is well oversubscribed ... ... ... something like 22nd in line waiting to be dealt with when you call

GOD BLESS THE NHS
