Conflicted about wasps? *Oenologists watch out!

This made me think again today, especially having destroyed a wasps' nest that was in some old logs at the side of the house last month:

Sorry @pgn but finding yeast in wasps intestines does not make me feel any better about them.

Nasty insects. I have been stung twice by them (without any aggravation from me to them)

Two of my cats have been stung. One in the mouth which gave him breathing problems.

So interesting info, but it doesn't make me like them in anyway shape or form !!

I hate wasps.  The past few weeks I can't leave my doors or windows open without them flying in and buzzing around your head and not leaving you alone.  They just seem to be naturally aggressive creatures.

Wasps and bees are a plague I can do without thank you very much! I hate them with a passion @welshsteve76, I hate honey too......

You might be interested to know that there is a whole range of species which eat wasps including dragonflies, hoverflies, badgers, bats, weavels, and over 130 species of European bird, including willow warblers, pied flycatchers, and swifts.

I'm not "conflicted" about wasps - I despise the evil little abominations.

However it's worth noting that wasps have alkaline stings, so vinegar etc. when (usually for no apparent reason) you get stung....for bees, its an acidic sting, so milk etc. Obviously you apply, not drink, the remedy
