Carphone Warehouse offer - Is it a scam?

How do I know if Ive been scammed?

I was phoned by someone who said that as I have been an o2 customer for a long time, I can have unlimited calls and texts 1gb of internet and a new Samsung Gallaxy Ace phone. I didnt have to give them any bank details, just dob name and address. Only after I was put through to someone called the verification manager, did I start to wonder if it WAS o2. No apparently a subsid of Carphone Warehouse. I have accepted but fear I may have been scammed somehow, although without my bank details, Im not sure how? Any ideas?

Thanks so much to everyone. Having read the comments on the phonenumber cherckers it certainly looks like a scam! I should know better! I have phoned my bank as suggested and they have noted the name and address. They think I should be OK as I havent given any bank details, but have given me the number of Red 24 an identity theft anti fraud company which I appanrently pay for as part of my bank acc! So will ring them tomorrow.

Many thanks to you all for your help and advice. It really is much appreciated.

Why would you give them an old address? Notify your bank so they can keep an eye on your account for anything out of the ordinary. In future, never give your details to anyone over the phone.

As I said, notify your bank, and keep an eye on your account yourself. Report it to your bank if you see any charges that shouldn't be there.
