I thought you could change it every 6 months for free? any sooner you would have to pay.

One free for the life of the contract but there are other ways of getting a free number change.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
