Calls to seize drivers phones

Hey folks,

Just read a sky news article about the possibility of the police seizing you phones if your caught using them while driving.

Whats your thoughts on that one?

Personally i think its extreme. What about those who light a cigarette and veer 3 lanes? 

Dangerous driving is dangerous driving.  If your using your phone, to text etc at the very least your careless drivings. And yes, i have done it in the past. (not proud of it).  This whole using a phone law should be scrapped and dealt with under existing laws names above.

Indeed. I love these border control type programmes where they seize duty free goods when people have exceeded their allowance. The narrator always goes to great pains to inform us 'These 10,000 cigarettes and cuban cigars will be taken away and burned' ....Yeah right. I just bet they are...

Gibraltar is one of the worst offenders. The Spanish border control can and do strip cars to find cigarettes. If you pull up outside and pop back to check.... you will see them being smoked before you have even fully exited the border perimeter...
