I'm sure it would help some but from a personal point of view, what's to stop people simply turning spending back on if the temptation gets too much? Willpower is a far better tool though it may help if a card is stolen.

It's a great idea but they'll need to differentiate between a petrol purchase and a purchase at a petrol station. I'm sure it'll be fine once they can sort out the definitions

A good idea in theory, thought it wont help anyone with a gambling addiction.

They will turn it off, full of good intentions, then turn it back on as soon as they want a gambling fix.

 

Having said that, if it helps one person then I suppose it is a move in the right direction...
