From last year they were Sleeping Beeuties 2018 to

This year 2019  again these little kind and sweet bees have caught me unaware and when I opened

the sleeping box there were a few anxious looking faces!  So up went the boxes sharpish

and they were put on top to feel the fresh air and off they flew ~ they'll be back always

to the same spot they first remember.

These are the boxes facing South in the hot sun.  

This is a box with                                                                                 an emerging bee under the release box top.

Wildlife have no respect for photographers!

Really hot today their boxes face directly south on a wall as well.
I got a sunburn face just talking to neighbours at a distance.
Hope it was hot where you are too.

It was a bit hot @TallTrees although I was watching F1 so missed it. Did get a full line of washing dry though.

I love washing on the line, here too all dry. I was on window cleaning outside only got 1 done 😁
But it was beautifully done @Cleoriff

The male bees have been out for a couple of weeks, good weather and some cold nights.  

Girls emerged day or two ago. Yesterday April 27th was very hot and they were buzzing

lots of them fabulous to watch.

Today April 28th they are totally sulking the males are unhappy because it is dull and

quite cold.

Here is a "grumpy face" sitting in a nesting tube!

When will you do the yearly count?

October 2021 @LukasB when they have gone through this cycle:
They have just started ... takes until about June to complete by all female bees, female bees then die. Their eggs turn into grubs, grubs eat pollen and nectar and then spin themselves a silk cocoon and change into a red mason bee by about October 2021.
Then I clean the silk cocoons store them until March/April 2022.
